The FOOA (Future of Online Advertising) conference recently took place in New York with speakers including Ron Belanger from Yahoo, Kim Malone from Google and Digg's CEO Jay Adelson.

The one clear message that was repeated by many of the 20 or so speakers was 'be where your audience is'. Instead of making your customers search for you, go out and find them.

Web 2.0 has already provided the marketer with many useful ways which enable them to track down and thus reach potential customers via community sites and other social media, and the likelihood is that over the next few years we will see this ability increase.
