What is Universal Search? .

Universal Search is the process by which the Search Engines run a number of queries at the same time across all of their results types:- video, image, local business listings and text. They then they choose how to rank the top results returned by each of these searches and then decide what items to display 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

There is thought too that the Engines will rank those sites that have a listing in each of the areas higher than those that don't. If this is true then the logical step is to ensure that any site does indeed have some content for the Engines to spider in all of these areas..
